Foursquare Badges Are Finally Real

March 4th, 2010 § 2

Foursquare Badges Are RealI need these stinking badges.

As many of you know, I love Foursquare. The location-based social network is the bee’s knees and if you’re following me on Twitter, you’ve no doubt seen my check-ins to various spots around NYC.

Some people claim it opens the door to robbery, stalking, and other deleterious instances of misfortune. But if you’re smart, set your permissions correctly, and tweet responsibly, there’s nothing for you to worry about.

One of the cool things about Foursquare is that as you check in different venues and areas, you can unlock a series of awesome badges. These badges are barometers of cool within the world of Foursquare, but they’ve always been completely virtual.

Until now, that is.
